I married a Turk, (I'm an American now living in Istanbul with him...) and though he isn't the stereotypical sex on a stick that I see walking around here, he still has that foreign sex appeal.

Take care!Alhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05553060941193981280noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2552023522468447928.post-83503946256670110352011-07-27T09:37:47.328-07:002011-07-27T09:37:47.328-07:00I've never been to Turkey, but would love to v...I've never been to Turkey, but would love to visit. I enjoy your vivid descriptions and cheeky tone.

Feel free to complain about the heat. I've been doing my share over here in Texas. I think it was nigh on ten billion degrees yesterday, in fact.

Thanks for adding this to the Traveler's Show & Tell blog carnival, too. What you said about men/women/dating in Turkey was something I'd dealt with for so many years... and you know what? Arranged marriages are still going on, even in Istanbul. Just quietly. I lost two exes to arranged marriages. And a third to the fact that his parents would never ever allow a foreigner into the family. It's a very complicate country on so many levels.

(And it's really such a pity because, yes, yes, Turkish men are gorgeous! I was so disappointed when I realized somewhere around Year 5 that it was a futile quest to keep a sane relationship there- the jealousy, the gender roles, the politics, the b.s. all conspired against my sanity)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
